Depart Nairobi early in the morning, around 6:30–7:00 AM, and begin your self-drive journey towards the Mount Kenya region.
Depending on your chosen route, travel via Thika and Embu towards the Chogoria side, or via Karatina and Naro Moru towards the western side of the mountain. The drive takes approximately 4–5 hours, depending on the route and road conditions.
Arrive at your selected accommodation, check in, and enjoy the cool highland atmosphere. In the afternoon, explore the surrounding forest areas with a nature walk or take a short hike, depending on local access and arrangements. Look out for beautiful scenery, birds, and possible wildlife sightings.
Return to your accommodation for dinner and a relaxing evening.
